The CeramicSpeed OSPW Coated derailleur pulley system for Shimano Dura-Ace RD-9000 and Ultegra RD-6800 allows you to optimise your drivetrain. It consists of two oversized 17-tooth aluminium derailleur pulleys (available in black or red) with super-smooth running CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings and a special carbon-polyamide cage that saves weight. In addition to the 11-speed mechanical rear derailleurs mentioned above, the model is also compatible with the Dura-Ace RD-7900 and Ultegra RD-6700 10-speed and the Dura-Ace RD-7970, Ultegra RD-6770 (10-speed) and Dura-Ace RD-9070, Ultegra RD-6870 (11-speed) electronic rear derailleurs. Like all Oversized Pulley Wheel (OSPW) systems, the Shimano version also provides less friction compared to standard derailleur pulleys and allows for a significant saving in power. There are also other advantages of the Coated version: The metallic coating of the bearing races improves the already strong performance even further, the durability also increases and the bearing has almost no wear.

CeramicSpeed ceramic balls are rounder, harder, smoother, lighter and more resilient than steel balls and ceramic balls from other manufacturers. CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings therefore last 3 to 5 times longer than other commercially available bearings. All CeramicSpeed bearings are manufactured by hand in Denmark under clean room conditions and are subject to a strict four-stage control procedure. Among other things, the size of the ceramic balls is checked down to the thousandth of a millimetre. Tests are then carried out in the laboratory or preferably by professionals in training and competition. OSPW
The Oversized Pulley Wheel System (OSPW System) is a breakthrough innovation by CeramicSpeed, developed in collaboration with world-class triathletes. This unique system is known for 40 – 60% less friction compared to standard derailleur pulleys and allows power savings of at least 1.6 and up to 2.4 watts. The OSPW system features the unique CeramicSpeed bearing, aluminium derailleur pulleys and a polyamide-carbon cage, making it 3 to 5 times more durable than standard systems on the market. Coated
CeramicSpeed coated products offer the ultimate in performance and durability. This is achieved by a unique coating that increases the hardness of the races, so that in combination with the smoothness of CeramicSpeed ball bearings, there is virtually no bearing wear. The coating is a metal layer that is 75% harder than hardened steel. It is applied very thinly (0.003 mm) and evenly over the entire surface of the race and is used both internally and externally for optimum results.
