DT Swiss 240 Classic Road rear hub – the classic for rim brakes, but reissued
With the 240 Classic Road rear hub, your road bike gets an update to the latest freehub technology. The Ratchet EXP 36-tooth freehub achieves a large contact area which ensures high power transmission. The fact that the bearings are integrated into the threaded rings means that the distance between the bearings can be increased. This leads to greater rigidity, which means less load on the bearings and therefore increases durability. Another bonus is the no-tool concept, which allows you to service the hub without tools. When changing the freehub you do not need any tools either. In the version for rim brakes and J-bend spokes, you get an absolute road hub classic.

A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. In addition, the heavy-duty and reliable ratchet system can be easily and quickly maintained. The no-tool concept plays a decisive role, as it allows the freehub to be replaced without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.
