DT Swiss 240 Straight Pull Road Centre Lock Disc rear hub – a light hub for road bikes
The 240 Straight Pull Road rear hub from DT Swiss is suitable for road bikes with disc brakes. The hub body is made from aluminium. This makes it stable, but light. The Ratchet EXP freehub has 36 teeth and an optimum engagement angle of 10°. In this way a large contact surface for high power transmission can be created. Since the bearings are integrated into the threaded rings, the distance between the bearings increases. This makes the hub stiffer, which leads to a lower load on the bearings, increasing their durability. The no-tool concept pursued by DT Swiss is also advantageous. This allows the hub to be maintained without the use of tools. If you want to change the freehub body, no tools are required either.

A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.
