DT Swiss ARC 1100 DICUT 50 Carbon Disc Centre Lock 27.5″ wheelset – aerodynamics for small road bikes
The ARC 1100 DICUT wheelset from DT Swiss in 27.5″ is designed for small frame sizes for road, aero and time trial bikes. For the carbon wheelset, DT Swiss has revised the rim design and optimised the inside width of the rim, so that you can benefit from more comfort on your road bike with tyre widths of up to 28 mm, if necessary. Additionally, the rolling behaviour is not restricted either. With a rim depth of 50 mm you benefit from a sailing effect during crosswinds, and you also have low frontal drag. To minimise this even further and thus improve steering control, the aero rim has been equipped with the streamlined 180 hub and new aero spokes. The flat forged DT Aerolite II straight pull spokes are attached securely in the hub with the T-shaped spoke head and guarantee a long durability even when exposed to large loads. For the freehub, DT Swiss uses the latest technology with its Ratchet EXP system. Here, 36 teeth fit perfectly into each other and noticeably minimise idling at the start. The SINC bearings ensure smooth running and durability.

SINC
Robust steel bearing rings are combined with ceramic balls. This means that the rolling resistance is low. The rolling resistance is further reduced by the seal on the outside and a protective ring on the inside. Furthermore, the combination of materials prevents corrosion between the ring and balls. This increases the durability of the ball bearings.

Ratchet EXP
A ratchet and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of components required, resulting in less wear and tear and a lower weight. In addition, the heavy-duty and reliable ratchet system can be easily and quickly maintained. The no-tool concept plays a decisive role, as it allows the freehub to be replaced without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.

Pro Lock
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.
