DT Swiss HEC 1400 SPLINE 62 Carbon Boost DB Centre Lock Hybrid 28″ wheelset – aero wheel for road bikes with an electric drivetrain
The HEC 1400 Hybrid Carbon wheelset from DT Swiss is designed for Endurance road bikes with an electric motor. The Boost hub indicates particularly high stability. Due to the SPLINE construction and HYBRID technology, the wheelset can withstand the stresses that e-bikes are subjected to due to their increased weight. For example, the freehub is made of steel. With a rim depth of 62 mm, the wheels are in no way inferior to standard road wheels in terms of aerodynamics, speed and handling characteristics.

HYBRID
To cope with the higher loads on e-bikes, the hubs, as the heart of the wheel, have a higher wall thickness and larger housings than usual hubs. The spoke holes have been additionally reinforced. The freehub rotor is made from steel and is equipped with 24-tooth ratchets, which are made from special hardened steel. Heavy-duty axles and oversized hubs allow the wheels to work while bearing high loads. The rims have thicker rim walls and offer plenty of traction. The connecting element between rim and hub, the spokes, have reinforced spoke heads and are made of special steel alloys in order to withstand stronger external forces.

SPLINE
Straight pull hubs, straight spokes and strong rims result in a durable wheel. It can therefore be reliably used in training and competition.

Ratchet System
The robust and reliable star ratchets freehub system can be maintained easily and quickly. The no-tool concept contributes to this, because it allows disassembly without any tools. The freehub has two ratchets which engage simultaneously. This means that the contact surface is large and the point load is kept small, which relieves the material and allows the freehub to work particularly reliably and precisely.

Pro Lock
The nipple thread is coated with two-component adhesive to increase the durability of the wheels. It can still be re-trued several times without any problems, but the adhesive strength decreases slightly. The connection between the spoke and nipple cannot loosen by itself.
