The Wind 40C C17 Wheelset by Fulcrum – The all-rounder
The Wind 40C C17 wheelset from Fulcrum is designed for daily rides on the road. The 40 mm profile, made entirely of unidirectional carbon fibres, plays to its strengths: Aerodynamics and stability on long flat stages, lightness and agility when changing pace uphill, safety and agility on technically-demanding descents. The brake flanges machined with the AC3™ laser process ensure braking performance like never before: the laser machining eliminates resin residues on the contact surface with unprecedented precision. To transmit full power during acceleration, an oversize flange was installed on the cassette side and combined with aero spokes according to the Two-to-one™ scheme.

At the moment when the rider pedals at full power, the rotation of the cassette causes the spokes on the freehub side to give way, resulting in a loss of rim tension. This causes excessive bending of the whole and this inevitably means a loss of energy. Fulcrum has solved this classic problem in cycling with its 2:1 Two-to-One Spoke Ratio patent, that is, with twice the number of spokes in critical areas. In this way, two spokes take over the task of one, the yielding and twisting of the wheel remains low and the transmission of the athlete’s energy becomes much more efficient. Thanks to this patent, the spoke tensions are more balanced and the fatigue strength of rim, hub and spokes is much higher.

Mo-Mag™
A magnet and a lot of expertise. After the nipples have been inserted into the rim via the valve opening, they are guided to the connection point with the rim using a magnet.
With this simple and ingenious system, you get a wheel with no holes on the upper rim, but with conventional nipples for lacing!
