The TB14 28″ rim by H+SON – A modern classic
When designing the TB14 28″ rim, H+SON was inspired by the classic aesthetics of the steel era of Road cycling and brought them back. Thus, the rim benefits from the latest developments in rim manufacturing and profile design. Created to be both beautiful and functional, the rim contains elements of an authentic look and at the same time design specialties that make it characteristic of H+SON. Functionality and ride quality are just as important as form. To improve ride feel, handling and strength, the rim is manufactured with the patented G609 aluminium alloy and an invisible welding joint. From the double eyelets that reinforce the rim to the production of new shapes for the valve badge, H+SON have devoted neurotic attention to every detail. The wider rim increases the stiffness and gives you the feeling of riding on tubular tyres. The combination of a flat profile with a wider 23 mm rim width provides the torsional stiffness and power transmission expected from modern wheels, while maintaining the smooth flowing ride quality for which the original rim design was taken. The advantages of the rim width are immediately noticeable as the tyre does not take on a bulb shape in curves, does not tip under load and the power transmission is improved. The brake track is precisely machined for increased braking force.
